Top 3 Lip Colors to Wear Now

One of the best ways to polish off your look is – yes shoes, but also with your lips! Pucker up and check out my top 3 matte lip colors to wear now!  (Left to Right in the top pic)

1. Kat Von D: Studded Kiss Lipstick – Lolita

First I just have to say that I own this lip color in both the liquid lipstick and the lipstick and they do not look the same! The lipstick reads more red and the liquid lipstick reads more dark mauve. Both are great colors! But good to keep in mind when purchasing. The matte finish on the lipstick is really nice and it’s great for layering into a darker red/burgundy.  The liquid lipstick I love love love. It stays on for hours even with eating and drinking and also finishes in a soft matte (Definitely still bring it with you to touch up just in case!).  I find myself using the liquid lipstick more than the lipstick because it’s more on trend for Winter going into Spring since it’s darker. Once it’s full on Spring I’ll be using more of the redder Lolita Lipstick. Oh and did I mention – Vegan Alert! This is a vegan formula lipstick!

2. Urban Decay: Matte 1993

If any of you are lipstick lovers you’ll know how hard it is to get your hands on this color! It’s been super popular this Fall/Winter. I lucked out when I bought mine at Sephora – my bff and I were st Sephora and we asked the store rep to check in the back and they had one more left! Score! It’s been one of my favorite colors this season – now that it’s getting hotter and sunnier in LA I’ve been layering it under my lighter color lip colors like the Makeup Forever color below! This lip will last all day long too, with just a few touchups throughout the day and night. I definitely recommend this if you’re looking for a medium brown/mauve color! BTW – the link above is to ULTA, all the other sites I found are sold out – hurry!!

3. Makeup Forever: Rouge Artist Intense – M1 Matte Finish

I love this lipstick because it doubles as a nude and light pink. I wear it by itself for a more pink look or layer Nars Bilbao underneath for a more shimmery nude look. It goes well with minimalistic outfits in neutral tones, black, grey and white or to pop your pinks in a more colorful outfit. This lip color doesn’t last as long as the two above, but still definitely worth the purchase to have this color staple! If you layer it on enough it will last you through your coffee/tea but after a meal, it’s like you were never wearing it. The matte look is SUPER nice, but my lips tend to get dried out quickly in this, so I recommend dabbing on some chapstick before you apply. One extra little perk is that it smells really good! I can always smell it while I’m wearing it, but not to the point that I get sick of it. It’s like a light warm perfume scent 🙂

I love wine coloured lipsticks though I don’t wear them often. I think they’re just so chic and cool 😀💄
