Must-Have Makeup

Hi boos! Today I’m sharing my must-have makeup that I constantly use in my daily routine. I’ve been using these items for years and now that I’m in the beauty industry I can truly attest to their quality!

Foundation – Smashbox BB Water
I recently switched to this instead of a full on foundation because I wanted a product that felt more lightweight. I have freckles and I wanted them to show through my foundation so this was a perfect fit for me. It blends super well with a beauty blender or foundation brush. I also like the applicator because it’s actually a dropper as opposed to a pump or squeeze tube. This gives me a lot more control in the amount of product I use so i feel like I’m wasting less of it. For a more full coverage foundation I recommend Nars Velvet Matte Skin Tint. I was using this before I switched to the BB water.  Even though it’s a skin tint, it still provides a lot of coverage as it’s very pigmented. You don’t need to use very much with each application. It also provides a nice matte finish, which I prefer to dewy finishes. I use the Laura Mercier setting powder as the last step to my foundation. It gives my skin a blurred finish which looks super smooth and polished.

Concealer – Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer
I have pretty dark circles under my eyes (I get it from my mama) and this concealer is the only thing that really covers them up. I dab a few dots along my under eye and use the beautyblender micro.mini to blend it in. It’s the perfect size and shape to fit into the corners of my eyes. This concealer is also great for covering blemishes!

Blush – Laura Mercier Cream Blush
I’ve had this blush for a long time now and I always come back to it. For the last year I was using the Nars Orgasm blush, which is my favorite powder blush, but I recently switched back to the cream concealer because I can blend it better with my fingers. I also like using it in conjunction with the Glossier Haloscope because they are both cream based and blend well together. If I’m using a cream blush, I use a cream highlighter and if I’m using a powder blush, I’ll use a powder highlighter! I’ll get more into that in the next section.

Highlighter – Glossier Haloscope
This was my very first highlighter I ever bought! It’s great because it’s super easy to layer on and user friendly if you’re new to highlighters. You literally just swipe it on your cheekbones and pat it in with your fingers to blend. It’s a push up stick infused with moisturizers, which creates a dewy, strobing effect that I personally like because it doesn’t look glittery. For a powder based highlighter, I love the Bad Habit Rose highlighter palette. It comes with 6 shades that range from cool shimmers to warm bronze toned highlights. Plus it’s only $10! This item is only offered on the Hush app, which you can download using the link in this page.

Mascara – Benefit They’re Real
Every time I wear this mascara people ask me if my lashes are real. No lie! They make my lashes look so much fuller and longer. I love that the mascara doesn’t run down either, because I usually have that problem with mascaras. I highly recommend this mascara!

Eyebrows – Anastasia Brow Definer & Pro Pencil
These two product will keep you eyebrows on point all day. The Brow Definer has a slanted edge that creates marks that actually look like hair so it give your eyebrows a natural filled in look. You can also get a hard line if you press down harder with it so this works great for those super defined brows as well. The secret key here is the Pro Pencil. After you’ve filled in your eyebrows, go back in with the pro pencil and outline your brows to make it look nice and clean. Then use a brush to softly blend in the pro pencil with your skin tone. I always feel so polished when I use this combo!
